Two ways to get a clean signature image for documents, forms and email. Draw mode is a signature pad: sign with a mouse, a finger or a stylus, choose the pen width and ink colour, adjust smoothing to steady a shaky line, and undo stroke by stroke. Download a transparent PNG trimmed to the signature, drawn at three times screen resolution, or an SVG that scales to any size.

From-a-photo mode turns a picture of your real signature on paper into ink on a transparent background. The photo is converted to grayscale and every pixel darker than the threshold becomes ink in the colour you choose; the paper disappears, and the result is trimmed to the ink. A starting threshold is picked automatically (Otsu's method) and a slider fine-tunes it.

Your signature never leaves the device. Be careful where you use the image: a picture of a signature is not a certified electronic signature, and some organisations require a wet signature or a qualified e-signature service.

How to use it

  1. Choose Draw, or From a photo.
  2. Draw: sign in the box, then adjust pen width, colour and smoothing; use Undo or Clear to redo it.
  3. From a photo: sign on white paper, take a sharp photo in even light, choose it and move the threshold until the strokes are solid and the paper is gone.
  4. Download the transparent PNG (or SVG in draw mode) and place it in your document.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. The file is read and processed by your browser on your device; nothing is sent to a server. You can load the page, switch off Wi-Fi and it still works.

Is the PNG really transparent?

Yes. Only the ink has pixels; the rest is fully transparent, so it sits cleanly on any background. The preview shows transparency as a checkerboard.

How do I put the signature into a PDF?

Most PDF editors and word processors can insert an image: add the PNG and resize it over the signature line.

Why does my photo signature look patchy?

Uneven lighting or a thin pen. Raise the threshold to keep faint strokes, or retake the photo in daylight with a darker pen.

Is this a legally binding e-signature?

It is an image of your signature. Whether that is accepted depends on the recipient and the law that applies; contracts often need a dedicated e-signature service.
