Need a PDF of a Word document on a computer without Office, or without sending a confidential file to a website? The .docx is read in your browser with mammoth, an open-source converter that understands Word's structure: headings, paragraphs, bold and italic text, bulleted and numbered lists, tables and embedded pictures. The document is then laid out on A4 or Letter pages with real, selectable text.
This is a clean re-layout, not a copy of Word's rendering. Page breaks, columns, text boxes, headers and footers, exact fonts, colours and spacing are not reproduced, so a heavily designed document will look different. For letters, reports, CVs and notes it gives a tidy, readable PDF; for a pixel-perfect copy, use "Save as PDF" in Word itself.
Text uses Carlito, a Calibri-compatible font, covering Latin, Greek and Cyrillic. Characters it cannot draw (such as Arabic or Chinese) are reported rather than silently dropped.

Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded?
No. The file is read and processed by your browser on your device; nothing is sent to a server. You can load the page, switch off Wi-Fi and it still works.
Will the PDF look exactly like my Word document?
Not exactly. Structure (headings, lists, tables, bold, images) is kept; layout details such as columns, text boxes, headers, footers and precise fonts are simplified.
Can I convert old .doc files?
No, only .docx. Open the .doc in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs and save it as .docx first.
Is my document's text selectable in the PDF?
Yes. Text is real PDF text in an embedded font, so it can be searched and copied.
What about Arabic documents?
The built-in font does not include Arabic glyphs, so Arabic text is replaced by "?" and the tool tells you. Use Word's own "Save as PDF" for Arabic documents.
