A square foot is a square 0.3048 m on each side, so 1 sq ft = 0.3048² = 0.09290304 m² exactly, and m² = sq ft × 0.09290304 (or ÷ 10.7639). A 1,000 sq ft apartment is 92.90 m², a 1,500 sq ft one 139.35 m² and a 2,000 sq ft house 185.81 m².
Property portals in the UAE, the US, the UK and India quote sizes in square feet, while European, Saudi and most Asian listings use square metres. Converting both to the same unit, and then dividing the price by the area, is the only fair way to compare listings across markets.
