Subtract 32, then multiply by 5/9: °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9. Order matters, because the 32-degree offset has to come off before scaling. 98.6 °F is exactly 37 °C, 70 °F is 21.1 °C and 0 °F is −17.8 °C.
US recipes set ovens at 350 °F (176.7 °C, usually treated as 180 °C), 375 °F (190.6 °C) and 400 °F (204.4 °C). US weather forecasts, thermostats and fever thermometers use Fahrenheit too; the table lists the values you are most likely to meet.
